Rural Arts North Yorkshire
Rural Arts North Yorkshire is an arts charity based at the Old Courthouse in Thirsk. We can bring an extensive range of arts workshops, courses, and projects in visual and performing arts to your venue (North Yorkshire and beyond).
Get Creative- We work with all sectors of the community including schools, youth clubs, parent and child groups, special needs groups, older people, and intergenerational community groups. Our program is offered at all levels from beginners through to advanced and workshops can range from a couple of hours through to extensive projects that are carried out over several months. For each session, our artists will bring all materials and equipment required.
ON Tour- Professional live theatre, music, dance, comedy, and puppetry…all this is brought right to the heart of rural communities through the Rural Arts ON Tour scheme. We offer a choice of shows (adaptable for small venues), specially selected to appeal to diverse audiences of all ages, as well as a program of related workshops.
The Old Courthouse- Rural Arts are based in the busy market town of Thirsk in a beautifully restored Grade 2 listed Courthouse, which houses arts workshops, a media studio, small gallery space, café, performance space, and business facilities with full disabled access. We have a variety of fully-equipped spaces available to hire for business use, workshops, and private events.
We have monthly exhibitions and sell a range of ceramics, jewelry & greetings cards. As part of your visit drop into our café and be tempted by our homemade cakes and refreshments.
In addition to running workshops, Rural Arts can also help you to find the funding for your activity.
